Tomas Salinas: Owner, General Building Contractor 

Tomas became a California State Licensed Contractor in 1998, after working for a local construction company for several years. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree of Science in Industrial Technology and a minor in Business from Humboldt State University. Tomas enjoys bringing together the art and science of good design in creating satisfying work and living environments for his clients. He is committed to the company’s growth and development, particularly in such areas as green building and designing for small spaces.

Kris Wells: Master Carpenter

Kris started for Heartwood Design/Build after graduating from McKinleyville High School’s Building Trades Program in 2004. As a Master Carpenter his skill level is impressive. He also brings a creative mind and an excellent ability to problem solve to every task. Kris has a high level of quality and care in his role of overseeing aspects of site operations, including managing the crew and subcontractors, material acquisition and customer service. He is known for his spirited enthusiasm towards his craft and those he works with.
